Heartbreaker is a newly developed heart romaine. It has a large frame
with an excellent smooth tapered midrib and excellent weight at harvest time.
Because of its large frame and high tolerance to Tip-Burn, Heartbreaker can be
used for Heart, Processor and Fresh markets. Other characteristics that will
help growers deliver a stronger product to consumers are that its Corky Root
resistant, Sclerotinia tolerant, medium/strong bolting tolerant. Compared to
Green Forest it has earlier heart maturity by 3-5 days, 2 inches taller, has
medium yellow plant color with strong resistance to low & high temperatures
abnormalities.
